For the 2010 label of Chateau Mouton Rothschild, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild commissioned an American Born artist- Jeff Koons that has an interesting life story behind him we decided to write about. This American artist is known for his unusual concept of art such as balloon animals produced in stainless steel. But this expression of his, that some critics view as kitsch, made Jeff Koons the world's most expensive living artist when in November 2013 his artwork -Balloon Dog was sold for a record of 58.4 million!!!

Jeff was born in York in 1955, Pennsylvania. His father was a furniture dealer which has influenced his work during his creation period. He studied painting at School of Art Institute of Chicago only to move to New York after getting his degree in order to establish himself as an artist. Since the life of an artist was full of financial struggles he started working as commodity broker at Smith Barney but finally rose to prominence as an artist in mid-1980s and opened his first studio in SoHo, New York.

His art creations can be seen all around the world. In 1992 he created a giant puppy sculpture in Bad Arolsen,Germany. Later, in 1995, The Puppy was dismantled and moved to Sydney. Two years later, this giant dog covered in bright flowers was installed at the entrance of Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao where it still stands today.

In his design for the 2010 label, Jeff mixed classical with contemporary with even a hint of humor- a ancient Pompeii fresco of ,,The Birth of Venus'' with a silver line drawing of a ship sailing under a bright sun. If you have ever wondered how much an artist that creates these famous labels gets payed, the word is they don't get any money at all. The featured artist are said to be payed with 10 cases of various vintages of Mouton Rothschild which is pretty enough considering the price of this wine.

But this was not Jeff's only experience in wine industry. After a successful collaboration with Mouton Rothschild, Jeff was asked to create a design for a limited edition of Dom Perignon. He successfully created a special gift box for two Vintages of the year: Dom Perignon 2004 and Dom Perignon Rose 2003. The design was inspired by the shapes and colours of Balloon Venus.

These are not the only things this artist is known for, not surprisingly Jeff has a big circle of celeb friends. Recently Kim Kardashian posted a photo of him with her little baby Nori. He also collaborated with American recording artist Lady Gaga on her newest album - ARTPOP. Jeff created Gaga's album cover featuring a nude sculpture of her.
